Review of Ken's Tour

We visited the Lower Antelope Canyon in June of 2019. Our tour was great. The staff of Ken's Tours was friendly and professional. The facility there is very nice, with well kept restrooms, a terrific gift shop, a nice lounge area to wait for your tour and a nice selection of food and drinks. The tour guides are also very well informed and helpful. They want you to have a memorable experience, and help everyone with their camera settings, and even take pictures of the groups. Each guide is responsible for around 10 people. Even though a lot of people are moving through the canyon there were few times that it seemed crowded. Note, their website is a bit confusing about what you can take into the canyon. You can buy a clear purse from a place like Amazon to hold your belongings. My wife had a 10" clear plastic shoulder bag in which she carried her cell phone, wallet and a water bottle. They just want to make sure that people don't carry weapons and such into the canyons, and also prevent damage to the environment. If you are a photographer with a decent camera make sure to shoot RAW for best results. The canyons are pretty dark, but the sky is bright. If you want to capture a nice blue sky then expose for the sky and you should be able to pull out the canyon details in your photo editing software. Note, in the heat of the summer you really don't need to wear long pants into the canyon. We all wore shorts for our 10:30 AM tour, and we were very comfortable. The canyon does get a bit tight at spots, but I never felt confined. One thing you need to know is that there are plenty of steps in this canyon going down and up. So, don't wear sandals. Just wear decent running, walking or hiking shoes. Also, they no longer toss dirt in the air, so there is less likelihood of getting dirt on your camera lens. Just make sure you take a fairly wide angle lens.
