Visitors need to understand first of all the "Marival" is the name of a number of different facilities with different amenities. The is the Marival Residences, The Grand Marival, Club Marival and Marival Beach Club.We thought we were going to a 5 star resort but we were booked into Club Marival which definitely is not 5 star. On the positive side, the rooms were clean, the pool area very nice, the food acceptable. On the down side the rooms were quite spartan, no decor to speak of, no extras other than coffee pot and fridge. A couple of loungers on the balcony would have been nice but all there was were two hard plastic chairs. A definite irritant was that we had to find out a lot of information about the resort and all inclusives by ourselves or from other guests. When we first checked in the hotel's main concern was to try to sign us up for the beach club which they insist is not a time share. A couple of the men on the front desk were less than friendly, bordering on rude, insisting that they had given me information which they had not and my travelling companion backed me up on that. I don't think I would go back.
