Recommended by the reception of Droomparken Beekbergen as a good Italian restaurant. So it wasn't.

The website has a menu with considerably more dishes than there actually is. There were no starters or small snacks (finger food), although they are on the website. There is also no drink menu. There was beer, wine or soft drinks. No prosecco for example. They were asked if you would like an ice cube in your wine. There was also no dessert menu. Basically there was only a pizza and pasta menu. When asked why there are no starters, we got the answer that - with the current occupation - this is too complicated for the kitchen. Everyone does get 1 or 2 slices of baguette with some herb butter, with a heap of faded arugula and half a cherry tomato. From the house. That then again.

The night we were there, the service consisted of two teenagers who - despite really trying their best - were not well organized. At the time we were there there were six tables occupied. After table 3, the carafes (for the table water) were finished. Service was ad hoc. They completely lacked an overview. But they were friendly and tried their best. There was simply no direction or vision.

The knives were unsuitable for cutting pizza. The pizza cutter, which we requested separately and had to wait a while for, was fantastic, but there were only two of them. Table three was given a chef's knife, after they also failed to cut the pizza and asked for a pizza knife. The pizza knives had apparently run out. No spoon was served with the pasta (spaghetti, not ordered). A lot of faded arugula on top.

The pizzas we had had a good taste. Apart from a somewhat tough soil, there was nothing wrong with that.

All in all not recommended, but above all a disappointment. Two stars, 1 for the teenagers who tried their best and 1 for the taste of the pizza.
