I came from Citibank and the difference is night and day. Machias has been friendly, incredibly helpful and welcoming. They financed my home (challenging due to large acreage and multiple structures) with no hesitation when the big banks wouldn t. We ve switched all of our accounts including business accounts over. The rates aren t the lowest, but they use common sense lending practices- which is refreshing.
