I stayed at two separate Railey Mountain Lake Vaca...

I stayed at two separate Railey Mountain Lake Vacation homes this year, once in February and just this past weekend, and both visits left me a very bad taste in my mouth. During my parties visit in February, the entire weekend went off without a hitch. That is, until we were left with absolutely no water on our departure date. That meant no showers for 12 people and no water to wash dishes or clothes before we departed. Despite this major hiccup, I decided to give the company another chance. Well, that second chance came this July. Myself and my party were headed down to Deep Creek, only to receive a phone call advising us that contractors were in the basement of the home replacing the carpet, and that they wouldn t be done until 6pm at the latest. Are check-in was scheduled for 4pm. There were two bedrooms in the basement, so you can just imagine how much of an inconvenience this was. Leslie, the Reservations Manager, offered us $100 in gift cards to UNO s gift cards. While this amount was almost laughable for a party of ten adults, we accepted the gesture. We dropped our bags off to the house, A Fun Spot , met up with the rest of the party and headed to Walmart to shop for the weekend. We traveled back to the home to unload our groceries, and to check on the contractors progress (We were told we could occupy the home but to stay out of the basement until the work was done). After speaking to the contractors who were actually completing the work, we were advised that they wouldn t be done until around 6:30-7pm. These times quickly came and went, and before we knew it, it was nearly 9pm when the contractors were finally complete. During the time, a cleaner was sent to the home to vacuum the carpet, which she was never able to do. Luckily she do come to the home, as she noticed the light for the sewage was on. Someone with the water company had to come out to fix the septic tank. Oh, what a joyous smell that was! Then, we shortly discover that the ice maker didn t work and the phone was disconnected. Yet, we were still understanding and tried to enjoyed our weekend. Two couples slept that night under the smell of fresh carpet glue and dust. Leslie continued to be cordial during our entire trip, apologizing about to the inconvenience. She even advised that they would discuss a possible refund of a portion of our trip. Fast forward to Wednesday, two days after we checked out. I received a voicemail and call from Leslie, advising that a $100 refund was approved. $100 spilt between 10 people was again laughable, but as stated before, she was very gracious and pleasant. Well, that is until I he property inspector found what they stated was damaged to the new carpet which was blamed on myself and my party. All of this headache to learn that she was denying us the measly $100 refund. Needless to say, myself not my party will ever rent from Railey Mountain Lake Vacations again!
