I have seen so far 5 professionals at this hospital and been once in the emergency room to accompany a bad friend.
I must say that I have each time been well received at the reception of various services, and it is rather doctors that it "wedges". I think none of the doctors consulted had an agreement, it is a not insignificant point to know before consulting there.
Emergencies: The staff was friendly. We arrived on a freezing day where there had been a lot of falls, so they were overwhelmed. No communication on the spot by cons, and I had to leave my friend still in the emergency room without knowing where he was going to be transferred or how to do for the next while he was pretty bad. My friend was then hospitalized for a serious problem, I could each time take his news and was well received each time by telephone and on the spot by the nursing staff (reception and nurses).
Radiology: No on-site information from the doctor / radiologist, who just told me "he sent the results to the doctor", but he did his job well and took the time he needed (Dr. Fortpied Philippe ).
Ultrasound: I had a very professional person the first time, who took the time to look and who tried to answer my questions (Dr. Debehogne Marie).
Unfortunately during the second ultrasound I was shipped in 5 minutes chrono watch in hand by one of his colleagues (between the first shot and the last there is exactly a gap of 2m30, the results were not exploitable by my physio, since there was no detail or enlargement, so we had to rely on the written result).
Orthopedics: Given Dr. Guy Delronge for my child while still working at the Leopold Park Clinic. He is a good professional, with a very technical and precise side. No agreement, it takes 80 euros per consultation for a refund of about ten euros.
Still in orthopedics, I had an appointment for me at another orthopedic specialist in the shoulder, and on that I agree several comments on the lack of information and consideration of some professionals of this hospital. After diagnosis he wanted to impose infiltrations, presenting them as essential to my recovery. I refused, I asked to know the names of the drugs he wanted to inject me, and I had to ask him to send a file to a doctor of my choice (otherwise he was going to do nothing else). He knew that my physio was sending me home, he gave me no prescription for the physio, he gave me no information about the continuation of treatment for my problem off infiltrations, and demanded a cash payment on I was told by phone that I did not have to plan money and that they sent an invoice. In view of the Post Office strikes, I was subsequently asked for a copy of my file to make sure I had what it took for the generalist, and he refused.
In the patient assistance department they spoke to me about a question of decentralized archives, but frankly here it is the whole attitude of this doctor that leaves something to be desired (knowing what I have and what we can endure as pain / insomnia, he wanted to play on it to force me to level these infiltrations).
Fortunately, the general practitioner whom I consulted was computerized and could have access to my file by an application, and thus made a prescription of sessions physio, which will save me from having to spend several days or weeks to claim it in the archives of the hospital...
So in summary: like everywhere else, we can find a good professional ... or not. Great concern for communication and respect for the rights of the patient (in particular as regards information on treatments, access to the results of the examinations requested and accessibility to the data, which still concern our body)
