I've been visiting the Square & compass pub for quite some time now and I can't recommend it enough. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. The food is delicious, especially their fish and chips. The drinks are great too, with a good selection of ales and ciders. Prices are reasonable. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area.
