Wish we could choose less than a whole star..
While this may be a long review, it is an 100% legit perspective from within the school.

The school has no order, majority of the staff don't care, and the J.R.O.T.C. program is a joke(Mayor Rahm Emanuel has said it's one of the best in the city. Hah!)
The math teachers don't even try. Junior year math class the teacher always said "Just look at it." but would NEVER help. Senior year i'd tell the teacher I did not understand exactly what we were doing. Her response, "Yes you do" and walks away. She did this all the time. She spoke always of who was her favorite student. If my hand was raised while she was chatting with him, she would look at me then away. If she wasn't chatting, she'd look at me and simply walk away.
The exercise day(P.T.) for R.O. was weak asf(sorry for using such a term but it was." My first Sgt.(Thought they were really nice) spoke only of personal matters the entire class period. My "Chief" was fake. Had all senior sit through hearing what the next R.O. kids will be doing. Had us sit in on their events for hours. Then deducted a letter grade when I didn't go to the picnic where there're only hotdogs/burgers(Im a vegetarian) and he knew I had no other friends in R.O. cause they were all competing to be on "staff"(kids(the favorites) basically in charge of R.O. events(movies, food/snacks, small things) with no say from outsiders(not the favorites). Had us buy a gym uniform we're not even required to wear just for money (not to mention charging for uniforms never given out. If you're going here, check your bill). Spanish class was just sad. The teacherS(Yes. They kept switching teachers) had no authority. The students thought it alright to disrupt class due to the fact that if the Spanish teacher kicked "too many" kids out, the security guards will "scold" the teacher in front of students. There's this and so much more. On the plus side, the school and R.O. program appear to have money(prolly from overcharging students). However, once you join R.O., leaving is not an easy task. They will lie to the one who adjusts schedules. Though, she lies too. Another example you ask? I asked her if I could transfer out of R.O. She chuckled and said if I am able to get the "Chiefs" permission. So I did. Then I told her and she said no because she doesn't have time for it. I went back to her office later to attempt getting through to her and asked once more. She said I didn't get "Cheif"'s permission so I had to go to him. He showed me an email he sent stating he doesn't mind. The next day he shows me the email again, however, this time he scrolls down. "He doesn't mind. But thinks I only wish to leave so I can slack off." Also said a heavier kid is unlikely to switch to gym so he can work out.(His words) .-. We did NOTHING in his class. NOTHING.
One day the principal decided she no longer liked hoodies in the middle of the school year and we can only wear the schools hoodies. Sent almost half of the entire school home that week. Told nobody why. The security didn't even know why.
They pushed us to go to college, and while that's usually an awesome thing, they knew damn well that we were not prepared. I know no one from our class who claims they are doing very well. We're all stressed and in debt.

There're probably a lot of mistakes in this review.. sorry on behalf of not only myself but this "school" for not preparing the next in charge generation. Sorry, Guys. We're screwed. :/

Also, if they try using the "We've changed. We're an IB school now!" excuse, that's b.s. They implemented I.B. structure in the school when I was there and it did nothing.

However, Shout out to Ms. Flanagan, Mr. Van Loon, and Ms. Sotomayor! (If they haven't fired the decent teachers yet)
I post this on behalf of ~Class of 2016~
