I brought my son in. He had shortness of breath and severe abdominal pain. He had lost 12 lbs, was extremely fatigued, and was excessively thirsty. we didn't know at the time, but he is a type 1 diabetic and was in diabetic ketoacidosis. He had all the symptoms on the list. His life was in danger. Should of been an easy diagnosis with a finger prick and a sugar rest. Well they didn't rest anything, the dr didn't recognize what was going in, and sent us away with some Pepcid. It was almost 36 hours later when I took him to his pediatrician who immediately sent us to chino hospital where it was discovered that his blood sugar was nearly 400 and he was in the stages of death. We ended up being sent by ambulance to the pediatric intensive care unit of Loma Linda's children's hospital. Don't go to Corona hospital unless you want to take a chance on dying!!!
