Non bias on this review, this is for any future or considering employees for McElroy Truck Lines. This company has a great training program. I've been driving over a year before going here, just wanted to try flatbed. I completed the training for two weeks, EDP program. I wasn't considered hired until a week later after coming. They provide hotel and transportation. Do not listen to recruiter, they do not lease, there is no two days off, 34hr restart, come home after 2pm Friday and leave before 12am Sunday if you haven't already picked load up on Friday, yoully get home 5pm-7pm if u have to pick up on Friday. The training is strict but good if you plan to succeed....miles are around 1500 a week, load one day unload the next morning majority of the time 7am appointments. Have to leave on Sunday to have enough time to do a 10hr break at your delivery place after making it there for Monday 7am delivery.....my personal problems we're that I was signed up for per diem soon as I started, didn't get it the first 5 weeks, didn't know until I asked for a check stub because of low pay. Those five weeks were then added on the next five checks. Unfortunately I chose to leave before then. Second half of the sign on bonus doesn't add up to the dates I was suppose to receive it. Say I was a week off because it is given 60days after 1st load, which the recruiter told me 60days after hiring date. So money was consistently messed with. Didn't get paid for all of my empty loads due to them not seeing them or something. Everything is on the dispatcher, which the dispatcher never seems to know anything. My personal opinion is to find another job, the cpm is high but not any miles. People recruiting and lying to other drivers to get them to come onboard to get extra pay check which is 3000$. Just be careful without drivers no company is relevant.
