I like Kirkwood because it's one of the higher resorts around Tahoe so when these warm storms come through Kirkwood is more likely getting snow vs. other resorts that are getting rained on. And if you're into hiking Kirkwood has some excellent side country terrain. Of course the weekends are often not even worth it because all the parking is gone by 10 and the lifts are so busy you often wait a half hour to get on. And I wish they had a decent halfpipe.
