Unfortunately very disappointed with this organization. Unless you are ok with staying in your first home for 15 yrs, try a different program.

We are fed up with the crime in our neighborhood (bullet hole through our window, car stolen 3 times, 2 unfortunate murders blocks away) and decided for the safety of our family, it's time to move to a safer area. Only to be made aware that unless we want to pay Neighborworks 26% of what we sell our home for, we must remain in the home for 15 yrs from the date of purchase. We take complete accountability for not being 100% aware of this initially, however, this was also never emphasized by Neighborworks. Ever.

We've had several questions for them and each time we've called or met with them, we get inconsistent answers from 2 different people, they don't answer the phones when we have follow up questions and when we decide to stop by in person after no call backs, they're conveniently in meetings.

It was also very disappointing that no empathy over our concerns for the safety of our family were even addressed. All they simply commented on and seemed to care about was the 26% we would owe them if we did in fact sell. Call me crazy but that doesn't sound very "non profit" to me. So if you're looking for a "non profit" organization who cares more about making a guaranteed profit off of your home over the course of 15 yrs than your family's well being, this is the program for you.
