the glc recruiters contacted me via linkedin with an "exciting, promising" job opportunity. they are located in florida, but their client is the nih in bethesda, md. i had a phone interview with both glc and nih. after accepting the position, my clearance took a few weeks. the nih pharmacy clinical center is unorganized and had a very toxic work environment. training was insufficient and when anyone made a mistake, it was treated with getting written up. the people in glc are not pharmacists or pharmacy technicians. they do not understand anything regarding work flow of the pharmacy - they only take the clients word over yours. when discussed with my recruiter (shannon and maria) about how uncomfortable the work environment was, they said they would "handle it" - with no updates. also: when they want to hire you, they constantly call and email, then when you start, they do not answer your calls, and they email the next day. they also will offer jobs to those without sufficient work experience. in addition, the pay is ridiculous. nih pays them $100/hr for pharmacists and $50/hr for technicians, but glc pays you: pharmacists $50/hr (with benefits) or $60/hr (no benefits) and tehcnicians $18/hr (with benefits) or $25/hr (no benefits). be prepared to work majority holidays, saturdays and/or sundays (with 1 day off during the week), and don't you dare go overtime. also, no pto until 1 year of work - until then, if you don't work, you don't get paid.
