The World Bird Sanctuary has gone through a lot of changes over the years. I just revisited it, and it's better than ever. Dawn Griffard has done a great job with it, as the Executive Director. The facilities are clean, the birds are amazing, the programs are top-notch. (Go to the birds in concert in August - you won't regret it.) The staff is truly dedicated to making sure the birds are healthy and the experience is inspiring. It was fun running into Mike, Roger, and Dan - all of whom have worked there for over a decade. The three-fold mission of conservation, education, and propagation of important bird species is one I think deserves our support.
