In November 2016, the i3-Patrimonio Italia Fund, the one dedicated to the acquisition of properties of local entities leased to the public administration, purchased the Chiaffredo Bergia Barracks from the Metropolitan City of Turin, which is the headquarters of the Piedmont and Aosta Valley Carabinieri Command.

The Caserma Bergia palace, originally the home of a doctor, was purchased in 1737, with the authorization of King Carlo Emanuele III, to become the "College of Provinces". The College, established in 1729, was created for the maintenance of one hundred young people of the state who were among the most gifted but lacking in resources and subsequently - spreading fame - the College was also opened for a fee to the children of wealthy families. Just the influx of paid students determined the need to occupy a larger location. Between 1737 and 1739 Bernardo Vittone made the necessary changes to adapt the building to school needs. Following the French Revolution, in November 1792, King Vittorio Amedeo III closed the building; from 1797 it was used as a barracks.
