CICESE has several qualities that make it an outstanding post-graduate degree research institution. Investigator variety and their research encompass a wide variety of areas of interest for prospect graduate students. The facilities are more than adequate for research while also providing more than enough relaxation space for those long incubation/wait times. Most seminars are amazing with very knowledgeable and experiences guests; we even got Harald zur Hausen with private dinner and Q and A sessions.

CICESE has a good quality and low priced cafeteria for breakfast and supper. Another aspect is the gym, which boasts classes from Salsa/Bachata classes to yoga. The gymnasium is mainly focused on cardio workouts since there are no weight apparatuses or dumbbells over 11.5 kg. Finally, the view and campus layout is spectacular being a combination of city and ocean view. CICESE is located 15 min from the city center with plenty of places to rent for those 2 or 4 year studies. Rent is affordable ranging from 1000 - 4000 pesos a month.

On the lacking side, most classes are ok with a few being exceptionally well taught and parking space in campus is limited. Interaction between the different areas of research is limited and should be imposed by most researchers.
