I have been going to Good Sam all my life and am now seeking out a new hospital because ever since the birth of my child it has been one bad experience after another. By far the worst part about Good Sam is the ER. In the past year we have had to go there at least 3 times. Once with my 4 week old son for fever and we were there for about 7 hours and eventually left to go to a different hospital. They tried to draw blood from him 5 different times and were unable to get even a drop. They were rude and fake. I called the hospital manager in to complain and he would stand there and nod his head but in the end it did not change anything. The last straw was when they told me the only place left to draw blood was out of his head!

We returned a few months later with our 10 month old limping and in pain. We thought maybe he may have broken his leg. The ER at Good Sam said that it would be 3-5 hours before he could be seen! He told me that they were the only ER that does specific procedures so the wait would be long and begged him to get my little crying baby in and he told me to try the urgent care instead, so we left.

When I was delivering my baby I had a good/bad experience. When I originally arrived the staff was nice and the room was nice. My contractions were moving along nicely and so I got the epidural. Once I got the epidural then my contractions started slowing down and after about 6 hours they had completely stopped. Almost no one checked in on me and I had no idea what was going on. Finally a new nurse came in from a shift change and she said, "let's have this baby". I was confused because my contractions had stopped? She informed me that the nurse I had on the last shift did not like to deliver babies and she did! So the last nurse had been pumping me with meds to delay delivery so that she did not have to do it!! The new nurse was very kind and actually delivered my baby since coincidentally all the women on my floor delivered the babies at the same time and the doctor had her hands full. How convenient that the last nurse didn't have to deliver any babies.

Finally my last complaint, was when I first was pregnant and I went to see an obg at Good Sam. I was only 2 months pregnant and I was pretty freaked out. When I got there I had a million questions about how much activity I could do, if too hot of water would hurt the baby, and what were the possibilities of having a miscarriage? She answered me straight faced and begrudgingly that my questions were ridiculous and that I should use my brain a little more!! She even added that I was having a miscarriage I would know because my boots would fill up with blood!! I just stared at her completely appalled. I still do not think she realized how offensive she was. I did put in a formal complaint and if you look up her reviews now they are horrible! From now on I look reviews on every doctor I use.

I do not know about anyone else's experience with Good Sam but this is the last two years of my experiences and I will NOT be going back :(
