We went to the NYHS for the first time today. I can't believe it took us this long to discover it. The Children's Museum was lovely. It's spring break in NYC and it wasn't crowded. You could give your children the freedom to look around and explore. They had scavenger hunts, bingo and sketching and all the staff there was wonderful!
