We adopted a female, lab mix puppy from the Sterling Animal Shelter back in June 2013. Having a young child, it was important to us to get to spend some time with the animals before deciding which one was a good fit for us, which is not something you can do if you get a puppy through Petfinder. There were plenty of puppies to choose from and the staff brought us to an outside kennel so we could spend time seeing how each of the puppies got along with our son. We took out 4 different puppies and they gave us plenty of time with each. The adoption process was very easy. Answer a few questions, pay the fee and you're all set. My only complaint is that the puppy we adopted needed to be treated for mange. It wasn't a big deal though, and the voucher the shelter gave us covered the medication. All in all, we were very satisfied :)
