Castaway is an old Hollywood stomping ground that I had heard so many good things about. I had hoped to see the beautiful view, but from our seat outside on the patio- we mostly saw shrubs. Please whatever you do... VALET PARK!! If you don't you will have to pull around to the back and take a walk up a very steep hill. Granted, there is a ramp with hand rail, but if you have any kind of physical limitations,(3-5in heels?) it will be difficult...the food was ok but IMHO, very expensive for what it was.
The wait staff was really young, not that there is anything wrong with that of course, we all start somewhere, but at an establishment like this, I would've expected better. Maybe we got seated in the training section but the server we had was slow and had to be asked for everything. No intuition.
Over all, I can say I've been there now but I doubt I would go back unless it was an event or something. I'd rather spend that kind of money- some place else.
