I was quite impressed by this spot, where I came for lunch on a Thursday a bit before noon. The restaurant was mostly empty except for one or two tables, and I was immediately seated and given a menu. Being a Yelper, I knew what I wanted before going to the restaurant, but I waited for the waiter to come back. I ordered a Thai tea, garden roll, and shrimp khao soi with flat rice noodles instead of the normal egg noodles. The Thai tea of course came first, and it was served with a paper straw. I greatly appreciated the paper rather than the plastic, but I think it changed the flavor. I also liked that it wasn't too sweet. The garden roll was fresh, and the sauce it came with was tasty too. The wrapping was chewy and the insides of the roll were really crunchy and fresh. Before I finished that, the khao soi was served, and it was plated really prettily. I took the big crunchy piece off the bowl because I didn't want to eat fried food, and I started to eat. The flavor was amazing and bold, and the soup was thick. However, the flat rice noodles stuck together, and the pieces were huge. I spent some time pulling the noodles apart, and that took away from my eating experience. The noodles were perfectly chewy though. There were four shrimp and a good portion of vegetables, and there were plenty of noodles. I was really happy with my meal. Fresh and flavorful. The only downside was the service was severely lacking. My dishes weren't cleared at all, and I saw people just standing around. My meal was around $28 post-tax, and the food was definitely almost 5 stars. I subtracted one star for the sticking noodles and lack of service. I would recommend it though!
