In our neighborhood we have Suhrco management company that is paid by the HOA to take care of pretty much everything. They've been with us from unknown numbers of years (more than 20, I believe). A huge mistake! At the end of last year, my property manager decided to tow my car for expired tabs . Unfortunately, the title was on my ex-husband s name who doesn't live in the country anymore. By legal regulations, I couldn't get the car back. I felt harassed and unfairly treated and filed a complaint against the HOA. The judgment was that the tow of the vehicle due to expired tabs under CC&R #3.6 was unduly harsh and unconscionable; it exceeded the remedy available to police officers who enforce vehicle registration laws ( ) In sum, the defendant (HOA) is liable for unlawful conversation as alleged . The court entered a judgment in my favor.

I would like to address one major concern, and despite my trial with it, I hope other homeowners may not have to go through the same trouble I did.

Professional management can go a long way to creating amiable solutions between homeowners and the HOA. Rude managers can cause the homeowner to feel defensive about other interactions with the HOA, leading to more problems, rather then peaceful resolution.

With that said, I would like to point out the mistakes that SUHRCO management made in dealing with this issue:

- Lack of respectable way to address homeowner s questions or concerns
- Aggressive, misinformed communication; misguided attitude
- Presence of huge disconnect between both parties
- Alarming lack of transparency between homeowners and the management

In conclusion, SUHRCO management still haven't answered my question: Who is paying for this harsh and abusive management decision now?
