January 2020 was going to be the year I was finally going to buy a home. Then COVID-19 hit. I didn't think I could do it during the crisis. I came across one real estate person and she left a bad taste in my mouth. I figured all real estate agents were like this so I reached out to Family up north, and I spoke with the family real estate agent. She herself could not help me down here in Florida, but she did refer me to Paul Lykins. I reached out to him end of January and told him my lease was up end of August. I asked a bunch of questions and we talked on the phone for at least an hour. He told me we could start looking in June and that we should touch base again around that time. I wonder if when he hung up he thought he would not be hearing from me again since there was going to be a long gap before we spoke again. But I kept his name and phone number because he was so nice and helpful. When the time came for me to give him a call again, he remembered me and thanked me for calling him back. Paul helped me find my townhouse. Not once did he try and get me into a property I could not afford. He worked within my budget and made my first home purchase a great one. He made me feel like I was the only Client and went out of his way to help and check on me to make sure I was good with everything. Because this was my first time buying a home, I called Paul almost every day wondering what I needed to do next because I was so nervous I'd miss a deadline or an important piece of paperwork. He is patient, kind, and he truly embodies the ideal real estate professional. Thank you, Paul. I could not have done it without you and your team. Thank you for everything. I'll continue to hang onto your phone number for the future!
