Apartment hunting in Austin has turned into a game of who can stay on top of the new listings the best and race to get a place locked in. My roommate and I were looking for a new place to live, but for the space we needed and the price we were willing to pay, we were striking out on our own and anything we did find, was gone 2 days before we saw the listing.

Jody at Habitat Hunters jumped in and found us a place in one day! Of course the process to sign the lease and get the keys took a few days to sort out, but she went to battle with the leasing agent and property manager to ensure that we got the house, despite not meeting all of the criteria the owner and management company were looking for. The house was perfect and she made it happen. She even got the pet deposit lowered for us as well.

We never would have been able to do this on our own or with a lot of the other realtors out there. She kept us in the loop every step of the way and stayed on top of us to make sure we were prepared to jump through any hoops that could be thrown in front of us. Extremely proactive and always has a plan B ready if needed.

Another great point is her advice on other places we looked at that she felt wouldn't work well for our needs and lifestyle, ie location, sq. ft. and neighborhoods.
