Pregnant?

Pregnant?

A & E was the worst experience ever in my life. I would avoid at any cost. It was my first time going in for an emergency at this hospital. The A & E reception lady who was on the left side was extremely rude and her behaviour was aggressive and abrupt. She lacked the basic manners and customer service and failed to communicate properly. I went in because I was bleeding and had a possibility of miscarriage. The reception lady started shouting loud and saying what is your problem several times which then made me feel so hurt as she made me repeat it several times in front of other users which made me feel uncomfortable. She started saying intimidating things which left me overwhelmed. If I knew her name, I would have made a serious complaint. I still feel traumatised, and I can't understand why she would treat patients so harsh when they are already weak, tired and vulnerable. At the hospital, you can't bring any friends or family to support you. You have to go alone for treatment and wait on your own. When I wanted to find out why I couldn't bring anyone in for support, she said rudely ask the doctor why ! She could have just explained simply; it was because of the recent changes in rules due to COVID.

I am British born, and I have fluent English, but she still failed to understand and communicate back effectively. However, the A & E waiting time was nearly 5 hours! There was no vending machine working, and no coffee shop opened to get a snack or a drink. Be prepared if you are pregnant and going in for an emergency. Considering the wait, the nurse and doctors at the Sky B ward were extremely helpful and caring and provided the help and care I needed. Overall I didn't get my results on the day, and I had to come back for a scan after a week to see if I had a miscarriage which is a disappointment. I have gone elsewhere for treatment and recovery because of the emergency. I will avoid this hospital, but I just wanted to leave a review so that anyone who has encountered the same issue can come across and express themselves this so the hospital can make radical changes especially to the A & E service and staff!
