Review of Eberle Winery

We have been members of the Eberle wine club for several years and we live out of state. So when we visited Paso Robles we were excited to finally get to visit Eberle as wine club members. We are on many mailing lists and wine clubs in California, so we were expecting somewhat better reception and treatment than someone just there for a tasting. That didn t happen.
We visited on a Monday. So it wasn t that busy and that is not an excuse for what happened. We were seated on the huge deck with great views. Maybe half the deck had people seated. We waited for a while and nobody came to talk with us. Ok, as I said, it was a nice view. Finally someone came and showed us the tasting menu for the day and put down the first two glasses and gave us a brief introduction the that wine. This happened through the tasting menu and honestly the wines were only mediocre. At this point I expected someone to show up with an additional special wine or two for wine club members. But that was it. So we left. A totally uninspiring, uneventful visit. There are over 250 wineries in the Paso area and I am sure we could find at least 50 or 100 where the experience would be much better. Oh, and we will be quitting their wine club.
