This is a wonderful old building that now houses a brewery and restaurant. Fabulous old textile mill with brick interior and original flooring lending the brewery a touch of character not found anywhere else.
Alas not as much praise for the beer or food. Admittedly it was a monday food wise, . server Matt was the best part of the evening.
I had a flight of beers to see if they had changed in the 20 odd years they have been brewing so I tasted them all. With all the truly cutting edge brewing going on in Buffalo now and the best PS could manage was the brew was clean and well brewed . Quaffable but not exciting?? Might as well drink blu. Very Very disappointing.
On to the food. Specials of the evening were a shrimp Po'boy and Beef stroganoff .
I had the Po'boy and it was tasty. This is one dish I am unfamiliar with so I cannot comment on it's hewing to tradition . I enjoyed it and the fresh cut fried potato wedges. My companions both had the stroganoff. Unevenly and undercooked (not al dente ) Bowtie pasta with pot roast beef mixed in and a dollop of sour cream on top looked good but was too salty by half and mostly tasteless. Not enough gravy or beef for a 14$ plate.
. The only reason to eat here is its close to the Arena and easy to meet and is a really cool old building.
Great Food and brew? Please go elsewhere.
