This home is wonderfully laid out inside and out with the large open and covered decks that are amazing! The dipping pool was fun. The location is spectacular. And that is where the positives end unfortunately. The house was filthy (even after a pre arrival call asking for senior housekeeper because of bad experience with Meyer last summer). The kitchen sink area was stained, the range hood was covered in grease and dust - you could literally write your name in it. Tabletops were dusty and sticky. Linens were thin and stained. There was 1 wine glass and 1 martini glass, the kitchen utensils were broken or missing. There was not a single usable knife. Lots of pots and pans - some with terrifying loose handles. The furniture and draperies were very expensive at one time - unfortunately, like the rest of the house, they have not been maintained. The screens had huge holes in them. The exhaust fans in the bathrooms made so much noise we were afraid the motors might overheat and cause a fire. There was mold in the master shower and hair in the drawers in the master bath. We made two calls to Meyer prior to our vacation, one to confirm the property was as shown on the website (it is not) and one just prior to request good housekeeping. We were assured that this request would be passed along as we were not allowed to speak with housekeeping (it was not). All in all this was a truly disappointing way to spend over $4000. Next year we plan to book directly with an owner or through a small agency. We think Meyer has gotten too big to deliver customer service - everything is "not my department". We think customer satisfaction is everybody's department!
