Jodie Fishwick Review of Aintree Racecourse
Every year so many innocent horses get pushed and ...
Every year so many innocent horses get pushed and pushed to win a race that all in all means absolutely nothing in comparison to the meaning of a horses life. They will race sometimes at the expense of their lives or welfare.
For example: Crucial Role and Forest des Aigles this year 2019.
One horse is seen in an image having broken its legs but is STILL IN THE RACE. How is this in any way acceptable? It s abuse and there is no argument about it. The grand national is a cruel race and as a rider myself i can confidently say that this is NOT the life a young horse should be put through. The horses get injured and put down as if their lives meant nothing. I understand that there comes a point when the injuries are so severe that the horse must be euthanised, however when these injuries were avoidable in the first place it is completely unacceptable.
The deaths and injuries of these beautiful animals aren t shown on the news, only the positives that they want the public to see.
There are plenty other activities one can do with horses, hacking, dressage, showjumping or safe racing. Just please not this.
It needs to end before anymore horses lives are put in danger.
I have a few questions:
Why does this race happen every year despite the severe injuries of the previously healthy horses?
Do you care about the horses?
Do the riders care about the horses?
Are you ever going to do anything about this issue?
is it going to be ignored like in previous years?
This. Is. Cruel.
