Had an interview scheduled for a position within the company and missed Alyssa s call due to an iPhone feature that silences unknown numbers until a voicemail is left. When I returned her call, I was put on hold for over 2 minutes before the receptionist (I assume) got the call over to Alyssa. She probably was upset that I did not answer the initial call and was debating whether she should still interview me, but went against her better judgment. When she answered I apologized for the brief delay but that I received her voicemail and called her back promptly. She specifically said that is weird because I left a voicemail right away and asked why do you have that setting on your phone if you re expecting phone interviews with a nasty attitude. I told her because spam calls are out of control and thanks anyway and disconnected the call. As a recruiter myself, it is very unprofessional to ask a question to a candidate for a job that you are hiring for. Instead of having an unprofessional demeanor, she could have proceeded with a brief interview or informed me that I would no longer be considered and leave it at that. Employers forget that they are NOT the only ones interviewing. Candidates are interviewing their potential employers as well. According to the Glassdoor reviews, I shouldn t have considered them for employment either way. Alyssa, be sure to be kind under any circumstances to someone you re speaking to for less than a minute. Poor reflection of the company.
