It's a carnival... very loud, very bright, very exciting. 2013 themes were very eclectic: Afro-Caribbean, Andean, Burlesque, Windrush, Drum Band, Brazilian... Some good live bands. Good street dance. A lot of street food - largely Afro-Caribbean but some south Indian: plenty of cooked chicken, plenty of veggie, truckloads of sugar cane and coconut. Plenty of child-friendly activities during the day.
