The iconic brick building on the banks of the Thames was built in 1933 as a thermoelectric power station, 15 years ahead of the equally characteristic one that now houses the Tate Modern Gallery.
Dismesso in 1983 after 50 years of activity was immortalized over time in various album covers of famous groups (Pink Floyd, Who ...) and equally well known film scenes, to highlight its strong personality.
Several times subject to attempts at urban redevelopment that failed, it is now facing an important restoration and modernization project by Malaysia and it seems that Apple itself has expressed interest in investing in the area.
A walk in nearby Battersea Park is also recommended.
