Fortuna Sloncha Review of Trillium Health Partners

55yo man in this Trillium for prostate surgery Aug. 2015 for 4 days, the surgeons were excellent and did 100% work. Some nurses/PDAs at Trillium were loud & got obnoxious when patient (just hours post-op) politely requested to visitors & staff for more quiet; the pee bags were cheap pieces of crap (seriously, go to a store and buy your own higher quality one), there are two call buttons on the beds to call a nurse, one of the buttons doesn't work and is not marked so a heavily sedated patient went into killing pain at 2 am when pee tube backed up into newly stitched up bladder, the hose simply was kinked and needed to be picked up to unkink hose, he was pressing wrong call button for help (he was pressing the one that doesn't work on the bed), this resulted in an E. coli Bacteria Infection in his bladder which (2 weeks later) added another harrowing 5 day emergency hospital stay (patient was in so much pain he said he wanted to die) in a much better hospital in Cobourg where the care was 50x better than Trillium, the nurses in Cobourg made effort to speak softly and quietly and would go out of their way to help patients and their visitors. Trillium said wives could not sleep with patient which was the biggest lie we were told (I met wives in hallways who told me they stayed with their husbands beside their beds for months). Cobourg hospital had zero restrictions on visiting, one night I strolled in at 2am and the nurse there went to the maternity ward to steal me a lounge chair to sleep in, what an angel she was, nobody asked her to do that for me, she felt sorry for me when she saw I was squished like a bug on 2 unconformable chairs. So buyer beware with this Trillium hospital. So many things they could do to quiet this place down, i.e. have everyone treat it like a library, turn off all noises on PDAs and cell phones esp., use a hushed tone for the love of God, these measures are free and doesn't cost anything. ----- Also, the front door is not at the front of the hospital, it's at the side on the east side (Hurontario) next to the above ground parking garage building, that fact alone caused so much confusion for us and visitors. Also, the parking is very expensive and there are no free places to park *anywhere* around in malls for example, where you will not get towed so good luck with that.
