I watched a friend spend from 8a-12p and than after that trying to get ahold of EDD to open a new claim since his old claim was expiring. He got the notice in the mail 12/31/2019. Was told he had 1 day before 1/4/2020 to submit. He called every 5 minutes and got the same message. To many callers, try to call back again. Looks like California is trying to detour people from collecting the money they put into this system and the employers that also do the same. He is a seasonal employee that collects EDD a few months a year.
