Well.... Where do I start!

My wife and I visited the Kayon during our 2 week honeymoon around Indonesia. We spent a total of 6 nights at the Kayon.

Before arriving at the Kayon we had a bad experience at another venue and deviced to stay at a local 5 star hotel.This put us on edge about the quality of some of the places we had booked as pictures can be deceiving.

When we got to the Kayon, we were greeted warmly by name and everyone was very polite and friendly.

When we got to our room we were still a little nervous as the resort is embedded within a jungle area and my wife is not a fan of bugs and spiders etc. The room was immaculate and they had even made a special effort to make the room into a honeymoon theme.

During our stay we saw barely any bugs or insects and those that we did see were outside of the room.

The air conditioning in the room was strong and the seals on all of the doors were also great. This, combined with the fact the room was cleaned at least twice a day, meant that no bugs were ever found in the room.

Now to move onto the service. Despite coming from an incredibly expensive, brand new, 5 star resort to the Kayon, I have never experienced better service and hospitality than the Kayon in my life! Every single member of staff knew our name, knew we were in our honeymoon, knew our room number and our vegetarian requirements.

Everyone was incredibly polite, helpful and thoughtful during our trip. Nothing was too much and they would do anything they could to make our trip special.

We were never without a drink, cocktail or food when we wanted it and the attention to detail was unmatched. The staff at the resort and the Kapitu restaurant were incredible. We were also assigned a driver for our day trips during our stay (Mr Ekca) and he was one of the nicest people I've ever met. We made a special request to have him each day and he was friendly, informative and incredibly chatty. He made our days out even better and he is a credit to the Kayon Resort. Without him we would have missed certain things on our trips and I think we will miss him the most!

Overall the Kayon easily takes the top spot for places we stayed in Indonesia and I was left in awe by how fantastic all of the staff were and how amazing our stay here was.
