Review of Grand Burstin Hotel

They say you get what you pay for... in this instance it's very true, I booked with a travel company to stay in Folkestone for 3 nights and have an excursion to Bruges and an excursion to Canterbury. This review is for the hotel only. I'll start off with the room and the corridors, with my wife and I being non-smokers we smell it quite easily, it's clear there are some guests smoking in the rooms it comes into the corridor. Once you get in the room like other reviews say you are presented with a dated run down room. In the bedroom lot's of fixtures and fittings broken (Drawers, Wardrobe etc.) There is a connecting door screwed up and I was able to hear the person next door snoring and the TV was so loud which it wasn't really just this 1 door which you can see the light all around and underneath. WARNING.... Don't sit on the bed to hard it's like a park bench (Solid) Never felt anything like it, so don't come down hard you're likely to break your pelvis.... The Toilet/Shower room was pretty much the same, Taps not turning on properly end caps missing off heated towel rail which didn't work. The most important part is the room was dirty, Hairs left in drawers, Smell of stale urine as you go to the toilet, Gunge accumulated under tap fixings and on plug holes, Toilet full of stains. So onto the food..... Honestly how this place has a food rating I don't know as after this review I will be complaining to the council. First night we had some fish and chips, Fish was tasteless seemed it was cooked, battered and then steamed after to warm it up. next morning we had a cooked breakfast texture on bacon was strange like ham. 2nd night we had food that tasted nice, a Chicken curry. 2nd morning now this was disgusting and which is why a complaint is being lodged at the Shepway Council. We had a cooked breakfast again, my wife turned over the bacon and there was a big green spot of what looked like mould. This was 6:30am at the start of breakfast, the bacon in my mouth at this time came out fast and was left on the plate. So in short, it's cheap, dirty, run down but you get what you pay for.... However the staff are very helpful and friendly. Some Pictures below a nice view from the room albeit the glass was cloudy but also some disgusting pictures.
