This is primary health care in St Helens at its worst. I am NOT impressed. Your GP is not able to refer you directly to a consultant/hospital of your choice anymore, in fact your referral may not even be seen by a specialist - it's seen by support staff who may then, after seeing you at an appointment refer you to a specialist. Just another way the NHS is throwing money away and another private company is benefiting!!
