Visited Alec's on the 29th of January for my husba...

Visited Alec's on the 29th of January for my husband's 40th. It was a disaster and was not happy, so here goes....
I called on the day to remind them that it's his 40th and would like a desert with candles, the lady said yes we have the birthday plate noted.
When we arrived we was sat at a table, the waiter asked for my coat but I refused as it was freezing cold in there. We didn't like the table as we was so far from each other and asked if we could please move table, we arrived at 6 and the restaurant was empty. The waiter moved us to another table and said we need this table by 8!!! It was just another 2 seater, so didn't get that!!
We then ordered our food, the starter was okay I must say is was nice but not something I can't get anywhere else, although the plate looked pretty but is that enough for the price you pay??
For the main, I had the lobster, king prawn and mussel's and my husband had the surf and turf. Mine was very salty so had to send it back, the chef did come and apologise and I did feel bad as I have never complained before at any restaurant so this was a first. The surf and turf was normal pub food with better presentation.
So no main course for me!!! We then ordered desert and guess what no birthday plate!!!! Very disappointed and I didn't bother to ask at that point.

I would not recommend Alec's to anyone, the staff was on edge and to many of them hovering around when it was still very quiet. There was only 4 other table occupied.
An experience that we won't forget!!! Ruined a special birthday which we won't get back!
