Kirkwood is a great resort, with excellent advanced and expert ski slopes. Three are lots of cornices, gulleys, and mogul runs. In recent years, they have expanded their summer offerings with mountain biking, hiking, and a small rock climbing wall. Restaurant and lodging selection is limited, and the highway to get the is smaller and windier than for Tahoe resorts.
