I scheduled an oil change for my 2016 hybrid RAV4 at the dealership at the encouragement of my father, who stated the dealership would know my car better than the average car servicing place in town. I had previously been having my vehicle serviced at Firestone in town and have always been pleased with their work, price, and timeliness. But, due to my father s rationale I decided to go to the dealership this time. I scheduled an appointment online for 9:30 am and received an email confirmation. On the day of the appointment, I arrived at 9:15 only to be told there were four cars ahead of me. I was not given an estimated length of time that this would take, but was taken aback that these other cars would go in first despite the fact that I had arrived for a scheduled appointment. My service was not completed until nearly 12 pm. I am currently working as a home-based therapist covering several counties, and this wait could have posed a real issue for me at work. I travel a lot for my job and so I have my vehicle serviced regularly to keep it in good condition, but my previous experiences with Firestone have *never* taken this long, and I have always had my car taken back at or close to the time of my scheduled appointment. Luckily, I hadn t scheduled any appointments with clients that morning not because I had planned it that way, but because that s simply how my schedule had worked out that day. However, had the circumstances been different, I may have potentially had to cancel multiple appointments with clients, which would have potentially resulted in disciplinary action for me. I m not sure whether the team was low on technicians that day, or if they had several walk ins or what, but I would not expect things to be running so far behind so early in the morning, and I would expect that if there were walk ins, you would take my car first due to having previously scheduled an appointment. I will say that I was pleased with the price of the service and the friendliness of the staff. I was also able to have the battery replaced in my key fob in the parts center while waiting. I will return to Royal South for repairs on my car in the future, but for regular servicing needs I will likely take my business elsewhere. 3/5 stars.
