True to it s name, it is indeed a luxurious hotel. You can feel the opulence as you walk in.
The check in process took a long time. I normally don t expect anyone to guide where the rooms and elevators are as it tends to be obvious, but here it s needed as the rooms are in two towers. I found that after I went into the nearest elevator bank.

The room was done up quite tastefully and it gave a very warm and cozy feeling with a balance of wood and upholstery. The room was a tad tight to move around freely. Two people in the room and it ll look full.

Once at Maurya, of course I wanted to dine at Bukhara, but as I had checked in late, i didn t make a reservation. It was packed, even on a Tuesday evening. Hoping it won t be too difficult for a single person, I ventured. The hostess who was handling the tables took my room number and told me she will check and let me know in a bit. I waited for some time and she did nothing. She hadn t even bothered to take my phone to call and tell if and when the table was available. I went back to ask and it was the same response. That miffed me a lot! I shared what I felt and chose to eat at Pavilion. The food and service there was expectedly good, but the Bukhara experience left a sour note.
