Been a customer for over 3 decades. Am a widower now, but come in to buy carryout for myself, and also my son who lives a few miles from me. And I order larger amounts for our family celebrations. 6:30pm on Saturday night, I came in and there was one customer ahead of me waiting at the deli. But the staff looked very stressed preparing phone-in orders. After 10 minutes of waiting, one of the deli clerks pushed a piece of paper and pencil at me and asked politely that I write down what I want. I walked out at that point, and it will be quite some time b/4 I consider returning. I know Max & Benny's does a fantastic business, but on occasion their arrogance is disturbing, and this is nothing new.. I don't blame the deli staff or cashiers (who I always tip!). They often appear to be overwhelmed, particularly behind the deli counter.. I blame management., plain and simple. You make a ton of profit --- please staff your deli counter in a manner they deserve to be served. And "no". this isn't due to the pandemic --- has been happening for a long time.
