Prospective Tenants Beware - ID theft and Rent Deposit Hostage

They are managed by BGOLiving - who after denial is saying itll take "6 weeks" for my rental deposit to be givien back to me. This is being investigated by higher authorities due to the illegal nature of effectivrly holding our ability to rent from a new place hostage.

On top of this - we were denied because we dared ask why they would require two IDs - sent over plain email, to continue our application. This is at best complete incompetence in cyber security or at worst, ID theft. Due to the unprofessional nature of their "licensing consultation " I do susepct the latter. Never in over 12 years of renting in Canada have I seen this, nor do friends of mine who rent out to others have ever required two. Looking online only shows suspicious activity.

Renters beware - if you are denied from Durand Billage you will have to wait "6 weeks" for effectively $1700+ to be repaid. It is a huge risk and the only time weve seen a prospective landlord not able to return the money the exact same way it was taken.
