Okay, here's the scoop - they should really make it clear that the Tower of London is a FORTRESS!!! The epicness of this place cannot be understated. Tower implies one tall stone structure - this is so much more. BIGGEST TIP: take the tour. The Yeoman Warders are not just some clowns dressed up in costumes. These gentlemen are military veterans (decorated and of rank) who know the history of the Tower inside and out. They guide you back through history as they take you on a tour of the place. The stories are incredible. This was the best thing I did in London out of all of my trips. You won't regret it.
