The Chicago Lighthouse For The Visually Impaired in my opinion is the most unwelcoming and anti-social institution for the blind I've ever had the displeasure of visiting. In the two weeks I spent here the majority of those within never spoke or greeted me and everyone seemed to be in their own little group. It just doesn't feel inviting and I couldn't wait to get the you know what out of there. I'm sure for many this place has been a great help to them but I have yet to experience that help. I sincerely believe over the years The Chicago Lighthouse has lost focus of it's original mission.
