Well, I've had my account paid off for close to a year now and credit reports still show a derogatory account and several hundred dollars balance. Spoke with a "manager" and he stated he would have it taken care of but would take several weeks for it to reflect on credit reports. It's now been 8 months since I spoke with him, and I'm still showing a balance in an account I have had paid off for a year! I don't recommend allowing your account go to collections, because they will ensure it damages your credit for a long time to come, by not doing their jobs correctly.
