I had to make a trip to the ER in July 2015. I was experiencing severely painful withdrawal of benzodiazepines. I wasn't dismissed as a "drug-addict" or "drug-seeker" as so many people are when they are in the process of voluntary benzodiazepine discontinuation. I was treated with dignity and respect. I had a fantastic nurse (I wish I remembered her name) and the ER doctor's name was Dillard. Thank you for taking benzodiazepine withdrawal seriously -- these are legal drugs prescribed to ordinary people and they are so strong and withdrawal so painful that a few trips to an ER may be necessary to ultimately make cessation a reality. A further thanks to Dr. Dillard for using an alternative to Xanax. All benzodiazepines are not created equal. There is something particularly nefarious about Xanax as opposed to other drugs in the same class. Great job that night everyone. Thank you.
