This experience is best explained by the email chain after we visited this shop, which made us laugh all the way to every other possible car dealership in a 50 mile radius of this place:

[BMW MANHATTAN PERSON] Thank you for coming into BMW of Manhattan. My job is to make sure we offered you a great shopping experience. I have a couple questions. When is the best time for us to touch base?

[ME] Hi - None of the cars we asked to test drive were actually available that day and we have not heard from the follow-up that was promised to re-schedule test drives in these models (hybrids). The cars that we were offered to drive were also not quite the ones that we thought that were going to be made available, but fine... Having said that, Anthony, who went with us on the test drive was very helpful and professional. Kudos to him! Other than that, we were quite disappointed. We got much better service at Audi, two blocks down the road. That should answer all your questions.
