I had heard about the "castle" so I took the family for a drive to see it. I knew it was expensive so I wanted to see what we would be spending our money on. I was stopped at the gate and told I could go no further without paying. I wasn't about to fork out my hard earned money without at least a glimpse of what I would be seeing. Do they have set tour times? Do you pay at the gate then do what you want? Do you need to book online since you can drive in without paying? The man on the gate didn't want to help me in any way and told me to turn around and drive out.
The more I think about it, the odder the situation was. I now have no desire to take my family there the next time I'm in Dunedin.
