Though the quality of the end product was fine, the process to get there was abysmal! They are Home Depot's installation partner, so I'd expected at least mediocre service. Issue #1 was the scheduling process. They won't allow you to schedule an appointment until the hardwood arrives at Home Depot. That sounds fine, but once it arrives at Home Depot, I had to schedule the appointment nearly 2 weeks out! When they finally came, they told me that my floor was not level and it would cost $3,800 to level my floor (mind you, this is a 700 square foot apartment, and the initial installation cost was $3,000). I could tell they were just being greedy, but they would not negotiate, and they knew I needed to get the floor installed quickly since I had already pulled up the carpets and was living on the concrete foundation. I decided to bite the bullet reluctantly. It took them another 2 weeks to actually get the floors installed. What really pissed me off is that they sub-contracted the floor leveling, and the sub-contractor left me the invoice showing that they only charged GS Flooring $1,800. This was highway robbery, and I would never recommend GS Flooring to my worst enemy! They did nothing to help or provide good customer service; they were slow, added an insane amount of additional cost, and did a fine, not excellent, job on the install. The actual installation process was a nightmare in itself and required re-work afterward, but I think all the factors above should be enough to show you that any other vendor would be better.
